Legal counselling
Students who have legal questions or need advice can contact the legal information or legal counselling service of the Studentenwerk Freiberg free of charge.
We offer you expert legal counselling included in the Studentenwerk fee within the context of our area of responsibility in accordance with § 109 of the Saxon University Freedom Act.
It is open to all students. The free consultations are carried out by experts. There are no plans to cover the costs of any action (preparation of a pleading, etc.) beyond the scope of the consultation.
Anyone who subsequently wishes to make use of a specialist lawyer should contact an appropriate law firm and apply for free legal advice in accordance with the Advisory Assistance Act. For this purpose, an application for legal advice can be made to the local court responsible. If the application is approved, the consulting costs for the consultation of a lawyer will be covered. In this case, only an own contribution of 15 € has to be paid. The counselling voucher is granted on the basis of income and generally covers the costs of the counselling session or, if applicable, a letter of objection.
In what cases do we help
Legal counselling can help students, for example, if the boss does not pay the salary for the part-time job or the landlord does not return the deposit.
In everyday life, there are always questions you want to be on the safe side with.
How we can help
We are pleased to advise you in all legal questions - but only personally. Telephone consultations are not possible.
The legal consulting services are only possible for topics in which the Studentenwerk Freiberg is not directly involved. Therefore, advice on BAföG is not possible; the Office for Educational Assistance is responsible for this. We also refer to other counselling services for tenancy law matters in which the Studentenwerk Freiberg is the landlord.
