Private Accommodation Service

The Studentenwerk Freiberg supports students of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Hochschule Mittweida in finding accommodation. For this purpose, it offers a private room service for privately offered rooms and apartments. 

Our private room service is free of charge for private providers and room seekers.

Why is the private room service particularly considered for international students?

As Studentenwerk, we are aware that it is not easy for local students to find suitable accommodation at the place of study. However, the situation is significantly more difficult for international students: They usually do not have the opportunity to travel to Germany for a few days to search for a room, they directly at the beginning of their studies. They are often not familiar with the relevant online platforms, which German Students are using. And in addition, due to a lack of knowledge of German, it makes difficult to directly contact with landlord.

To support international students, which are particularly disadvantaged for searching accommodation, we have decided to establish and utilize private room service.
